Galatians 5:22-23 MEMORIZED

In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.

Look around and look in the mirror! Where you seen these fruits lived out in your own life and or in the life of someone else?

9th – 12th grade will be continuing with Chosen but it has come to my attention that there is interest in extra youth ministry spiritual growth.  The reason I haven’t pushed it is we had extra stuff the first 4 years of my time at St. Joes, but hardly anyone would commit. What I mean to say is that extra is great!  But if someone wants extra formation or fun events, it’s important to remind everyone from the get go, that these do not replace the normal youth ministry gathering.  So I’m fine with more but please remain committed to the normal events as well.

With that in mind I have two book study groups lined up for youth 9th-12th who want more than the usual!

The School of Nazareth, A Spiritual Journey with St. Joseph by Mark Hartfiel.  It’s available on Formed.  We will begin this journey together on February 16th and conclude on the Solemnity of St. Joseph which is March 19th.

33 days to morning Glory Marian Consecration put together by Fr. Michael Gaitley, which we will begin on April 21st and end on the feast of Pentecost.

To sign up for one or both of these groups please email me.  You can tell me in person at a youth group event if you’d like.  But I will still ask you to email me.

We will check in during normal youth group meetings and on occasion meet separately at some other time to be determined by the group.  I’m fine with these small groups being virtual if that’s easier too.  We’ll talk more as people sign up.  Just putting it on your radar and now that we have Formed again there is a lot available.  So more groups may form during the summer and fall!

Flip through the Bible and find one of your favorite Bible story be ready to share it next week.

6th-8th grade Edge will be spending this semester focused on the story of salvation using the Great Adventure Bible Timeline from Jeff Cavins and Ascension also discussing the required Diocesan topics.  We have not renewed our Edge subscription from life teen for the spring but we will continue to call it Edge so as not to be confusing. This shift is in direct response to the requests of the youth and their Spiritual needs.  This will not alter the dynamic or style of ministry that we do with Middle School except make it more interesting and fun.  We’ll revisit the discussion about Edge in the Summer.

The 12, our next gathering is February 3rd. 6:30PM.
