St. Joe’s BOL Women’s Ministry – Coming Soon!

Help us shape a women’s ministry to FEED, CONNECT, AND GIVE HOPE to the women of our parish

Ladies: Your voice is important to us!

The women of our parish are warmly
invited to a Women’s Ministry Wine and
Cheese Night on Tues., March 10 from 7-8
p.m. in the St. Joe’s BOL Community
Center. Please RSVP to Cheryl (452 -2982)
in the parish office by Monday, March 9. If
child care is needed, please let Cheryl know.

We ask you to think earnestly about
the following questions:

• Where is God calling the women of Saint Joseph
Church, Bread of Life Community? What do the
words from our community prayer “to give and
receive support and raise up new leaders” mean
to us in practice?
• How do we create an environment of
“authenticity” that enables women to be “real”
-- to be and share who they really are. How do
we enable them to feel comfortable reaching
out to others when they need help and support?
• What does a Women’s Ministry at our church
look and feel like? How is it different from the
ministries we already provide? What are the
needs of the women of the parish that are not
currently being met? What are the features,
services and benefits of a women’s ministry?

As women, our lives have lots of layers. At our
parish, we have women of all ages and stages of
life. We are women, wives, mothers, daughters,
sisters, grandmothers and friends. The women of
our parish -- young and old – hold a wide array of
perspectives, vocations, stories and experiences
that can help us enrich, guide and support one
another. This is an invitation to learn how you can
offer your input and perspective as we create a
women’s ministry to uniquely minister to our
parish community.

Our goal is to speak to all the women of the parish. We
had an overwhelming response at our first event (50
women!) and this event is intended to reach those who
were unable to join is last month. We want to hear
from all of you! Let us know you are interested in
sharing your input even if you can’t make the event by
contacting us: Susan Yurkewicz – harborlily@aol.com / 814-
460-5756
- or Deb Thompson – debbie@getstrategy.com /
814-397-5241. Stay tuned for details on a day-long planning
retreat to dig deeper to lay a firm foundation for Women’s
Ministry at our parish.

Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; See,
I am doing something new! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
